We just got home tonight from a typical Thai experience. We went down to the walking market (which is only on Sundays) and got an hour and a half foot, arm, head, face, and shoulder massage. Let's just say I am getting sore already! I have a love-hate relationship with these massages. They feel very good and are very relaxing; however, they can also be painful. They find muscles that hurt that you didn't even know hurt.
I realize that I have not written since my trip over here. It feels like I have already been here a long time. I feel like I am still trying to get over jet lag though. I have heard that it takes one day for each time zone you travel (that would mean I should be over it by now though). On Friday I was dropped off at home at noon so I could sleep that afternoon (work just wasn't working when I couldn't keep my eyes open). I woke up at 5, was up for a few hours, and then went back to bed. I think the semester winding down, getting used to the heat, and jet lag have all made me so tired these past two weeks.
I have gone into the office every weekday except one. As of right now, I am going through past books and looking to see if anything needs to be fixed. I love accounting, but sitting there going through journal entries from past years isn't the most exciting thing ever!
Even though it has only been two weeks, I do miss being home. I am coming to realize how long 2 and a half months really is. It is a long time to be away from my roommate, and it is also a long time to be with my parents. After being on my own for several years, it is hard for me to spend so much time together at once. However, I do enjoy seeing them!
One thing I have noticed about Asia is the constant feeling of chaos. Wherever we go, I feel like there is stuff everywhere. There doesn't feel to be a organized plan for building roads or buildings. Wherever there is room they will put something. The driving also adds to the chaotic feeling. So many cars and motorcycles. Driving in the middle of two lanes, starting to go through a light before it turns green, and backing up in the middle of the road are just several things that make it crazy driving!
I have been terrible about pulling out my camera and taking pictures. I have decided the newer and stranger something is to you, the more pictures you will take. Since this is my fourth trip to Thailand, it isn't as different to me. I guess that is why I am not taking as many pictures. Hopefully I can change that soon! Here are a few that I have taken though.
I guess that's why people, including myself, take fewer pictures with each additional child they have (not as new and interesting when they reach milestones!). We miss you, but I'm glad you get to spend some time with your parents.
I love that your timestamp is Thailand time - don't forget to change it when you get back - 2 months from now! :)
